SHIMANO SPD CL-MT001 Cleats without Counterplate

After almost 30 years, Shimano has given the SPD cleats a makeover. They now offer a multi-entry function that makes clipping in easier and more versatile, and are 100% backwards compatible with existing Shimano SPD pedals.

Instead of only clipping in at the front ("toe-first") as before, you can now also clip in with the heel first and then at the front, straight from the top ("stomp-in"), or as usual, first at the front and then at the back. This flexibility makes technical passages, trails, or fast cyclocross climbs in particular much easier and safer.
