The UAE Tour, the only UCI World Tour race in the Middle East, is back for its highly anticipated 7th edition, taking place from 17th to 23rd February 2025 which includes four flat stages, two mountain stages and an individual time trial. As one of the most thrilling stage races on the cycling calendar, the UAE Tour attracts top riders from around the world to compete on a diverse and challenging course that showcases the stunning landscapes of the United Arab Emirates.

Tadej Pogačar
Tadej Pogačar is one of the most dominant and versatile riders in modern cycling. Pogačar made history by winning back-to-back Tour de France titles in 2020 and 2021, becoming the youngest winner and the first to claim three jerseys (yellow, polka dot, and white) in a single edition. In 2024, Pogačar won the Giro d'Italia, Tour de France and was crowned UCI Road World Champion, solidifying his status as one of the greatest cyclists of his generation.

Rune Herregodts
Belgian cyclist Rune Herregodts, born in 1998, turned professional in 2021 with Sport Vlaanderen–Baloise and quickly made his mark by winning the Ronde van Drenthe 2021. He excelled in time trials, winning Stage 1 of both the Vuelta a Andalucía and the Sazka Tour in 2022. In 2023, he secured second place at the Figueira Champions Classic. His biggest achievement came in 2024 when he won the overall ZLM Tour, including the opening time trial. As of 2025, he competes for UAE Team Emirates-XRG, focusing on time trials and Northern classics. -
Vine Jay
Australian cyclist Jay Vine rose to prominence after winning the 2020 Zwift Academy, earning a contract with Alpecin-Fenix. He impressed in his 2021 Vuelta a España debut and went on to claim two mountain stage wins in the 2022 edition, along with the UCI Esports World Championship title. In 2023, he won the Tour Down Under and the Australian National Time Trial Championship. Despite a severe crash in 2024, he made a strong comeback, winning the Vuelta a España mountains classification and a gold medal in the UCI Road World Championships mixed team relay, solidifying his reputation in professional cycling. -
Domen Novak
Slovenian cyclist Domen Novak, a strong climber, turned professional in 2014 and joined Bahrain–Merida in 2017. He won the Slovenian National Road Race Championship in 2019 and had a standout 2022 season, finishing second on Stage 20 of the Giro d'Italia and third overall in the Tour of Slovenia. He reclaimed the Slovenian National Road Race Championship title in 2024, underscoring his consistent presence in the professional cycling arena.

Juan Sebastián Molano
He's renowned for his sprinting prowess. He began his professional career with Manzana Postobón in 2016 and joined UAE Team Emirates in 2019. Molano has achieved significant victories, including winning the Pan American Road Race Championship in 2018 and the Grand Prix de Denain in 2023. In 2022, he secured his first Grand Tour stage win at the Vuelta a España, and he repeated this success in 2023. In 2024, Molano continued his winning streak by claiming Stage 2 of the Cro Race. His consistent performance in sprints and stage races has solidified his reputation as a formidable sprinter in professional cycling.

Mikkel Bjerg
A time trial specialist for UAE Team Emirates-XRG, won the UCI Road World Under-23 Championships time trial in 2017, 2018, and 2019, making history with multiple titles. In 2023, he claimed his first professional stage victory at the Critérium du Dauphiné, winning Stage 4 (Individual Time Trial). Throughout his career, he has consistently excelled in time trials, earning podium finishes in national and European championships, solidifying his reputation as a top time trialist.

Florian Vermeersch
A Belgian professional cyclist, gained recognition for his success in one-day races and stage events. In 2021, he finished second at Paris-Roubaix and secured his first professional win at the Antwerp Port Epic in 2022. He further proved his talent with a third-place finish at Dwars door het Hageland in 2023. In 2024, Vermeersch joined UAE Team Emirates-XRG to broaden his race opportunities. His consistent top finishes have established him as a competitive and versatile presence in professional cycling.

We’ve summarised each stage of the UAE Tour below, to give you a guide on how, when and where to watch the key moments of this race.

Stage 1 of UAE Tour: Desert Stage
Monday, 17th February 2025
138 km From Shams Solar Power Station Madinat Zayed To Liwa Palace
Start Time: 1:20 PM
Estimated Finish Time: 4:30 PM
Race Type: Sprint
The Route:
The desert stage. The first part (north-south direction) is about 45 km long, on wide, straight roads. After reaching Liwa, the race enters an area of very pronounced dunes, which make up most of the stage. A series of ups and downs leads to Moreeb Dune, where the race will take two laps of the Moreeb Dune cycle path (18.1 km each lap), marked by rather steep climbs and descents with double digit gradients. It then returns to Liwa for the finish. The stage is on wide, straight roads with good pavement.
Final Kilometres
The stage finale features a wide bend on a roundabout. The home straight is all uphill, around 5%.

Stage 2 UAE Tour: Individual Time Trial
Tuesday, 18th February 2025
12.2 km From Al Hudayriyat Island To Al Hudayriyat Island

Race Type: Individual Time Trial
The Route:
Stage 2 is an Individual Time Trial that takes place entirely inside Al Hudayriyat Island. The route is very fast and features only a few right-angle bends and two U-turns. The road is perfectly flat, wide and with sweeping turns, which will allow the riders to maintain very high speeds (wind permitting).
Final Kilometres:
Wide curves, wide road, excellent pavement. The finish line is on asphalt.

Stage 3 UAE Tour: The Classic Mountain Stage
Wednesday, 19th February 2025
181 km From Ras al Khaimah To Jebel Jais
Start Time: 12:05 PM

Race Type: Climb
The Route:
The first of the two mountain stages of the UAE Tour. The stage is divided into two distinct parts. The first one approaches the final mountain by undulating through the desert, while the last one features approximately 20 km of continuous climbing all the way to the finish. Starting in Ras al Khaimah, the race reaches Al Marjan Island and returns to the desert. After the Ras al Khaimah airport, the race heads straight for Jais Mountain. The final climb is approximately 20 km long with a constant 5% gradient, with slightly higher gradients around 7% in the last 2 km.
Final Kilometres:
The final climb winds through hairpin bends on a very wide roadway. Gradients are mainly around 4-5% in the first part and 5-7% in the second one, peaking at 9% around 2 km from the finish. The finish is on straight asphalt roads.

Stage 4 UAE Tour: The Fujairah Stage
Thursday, 20th February 2025
181 km From Fujairah Qidfa Beach To Umm al Quwain
Start Time: 12:15 PM

Race Type: Sprint
The Route:
Starting in Fujairah Qidfa Beach to reach Umm Al Quwain, the stage crosses the desert areas on the edge of the Hajar Mountains. It touches the largest number of Emirates of all the stages. After Masafi, the desert route diverges from the direct highway, mostly following wide, well-paved and straight roads leading to the final sprint in Umm al Quwain. Wind and occasional sand might be determining factors.
Final Kilometres:
The final km is on a wide avenue.

Stage 5 UAE Tour: The Dubai Stage
Friday, 21st February 2025
160 km From American University in Dubai To Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University
Start Time: 12:55 PM

Race Type: Sprint
The Route:
A stage in Dubai. The race will leave the city in the direction of the desert, passing the classic sites of these stages such as the Al Qudra Cycletrack and the Meydan Racecourse. It then reaches the Dubai Safari Park. The entire route winds along very wide and essentially straight, roads interspersed with roundabouts that have a very large radius and are well paved.
Final Kilometres:
The finale is on a wide avenue, with a 700 m straight.

Stage 6 UAE Tour: The Abu Dhabi Stage
Saturday, 22nd February 2025
165 km From Abu Dhabi Cycling Club To Abu Dhabi Breakwater
Start Time: 12:50 PM
Estimated Finish Time: 4:30 PM
Race Type: Sprint
The Route:
A stage around the city of Abu Dhabi. Starting at the Abu Dhabi Cycle Club, the route passes through Khalifa City, Yas Island, and returns to Abu Dhabi via Saadiyat Island. The route crosses Al Maryah Island, Al Reem Island, and Yifenah Island, with a key passage at Qasr Al Hosn. The final approach leads from south to north, concluding at Abu Dhabi Breakwater in a likely sprint finish.
Final Kilometres:
The last 5 km are on a wide road with large half-curves leading to the finish line on tarmac.

Stage 7 UAE Tour: The Classic Mountain Stage - Al Ain
Sunday, 23rd February 2025
176 km From Al Ain Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium To Jebel Hafeet
Start Time: 11:45 AM
Estimated Finish Time: 4:00 PM
Race Type: Climb
The Route:
The classic mountain stage of the UAE Tour. In the first part, the route winds its way through Al Ain, where many of its landmarks (Al Ain University, Al Qattara, Al Hili) are visited, then takes a long ride through the desert to the west and eventually returns to Green Mubazzarah. Here begins the final climb of Jebel Hafeet, which – at 10 km long – will be the final judge of the race.
Final Kilometres:
The final climb winds through wide-ranging hairpin bends on a 3-lane roadway. Gradients are mainly around 8-9%, peaking at 11% with 3 km to go. There is a very short descent in the last km, before the closing ramp. The finish line is on straight asphalt.
