Challenge Sir Bani Yas is making history with the Middle East’s first long distance triathlon, set against the breathtaking scenery of Sir Bani Yas Island.
Take on the ultimate test with a 3.8km swim, 180km bike ride, and 42.2km run. Prefer something a bit shorter? The middle-distance race includes a 1.9km swim, 90km bike ride, and 21.1km run. The Olympic distance includes a 1.5km swim, a 45km bike ride, and a 10km run.
We’re also excited to offer community races for participants of all ages and skill levels, ensuring there’s something for everyone. Get ready to experience a triathlon adventure that’s truly one-of-a-kind!

World Triathlon Championship
UAE Residence Only
Challenge Sir Bani Yas Middle and Olympic Distance Races – have been officially recognized as qualification events for residents of the UAE who want to compete for a spot in TEAM UAE in the World Triathlon Championships 2025 in Australia.
The Championship Qualification
Challenge Sir Bani Yas is a qualifying race for The Championship.
How to secure your slot:
Age Groupers:
- One slot is awarded to each of the top six (6) finishers in each male and female 5-year age group increment. Slots will be awarded in both the full distance and middle-distance races.
- Slots will roll down in each category up to 12th place.
- Qualifiers will have four (4) weeks to confirm their spot after qualifying at Challenge Sir Bani Yas.
- Qualifiers will receive their slot by e-mail after the race.
Prefessional Athletes:
- One slot for each of the top six (6) male professional finishers in the middle-distance race.
One slot for each of the top six (6) female professional finishers in the middle-distance race.
Slots will not roll down.
