When Colnago developed the V3 it thought of all those cyclists who want to get the most out of their investment. Quality carbon and fittings designed to offer an excellent level of performance yet reduced costs make V3 a perfectly balanced road bike from every point of view.
Advanced Frame Design
The V3’s carbon fibre frame blends technical solutions that aim at lightness with aerodynamic details. The frameset’s lines are clean and subtle and it can be fitted with mudguards.
Carbon Fibre Fork
The Carbon fork has been developed for maximum compatibility with disc brake systems. The new shape with concave sheaths in the upper part (front view) optimized the wheel passage, allowing the use of wider 28c tyres for increased comfort and lateral rigidity.
Frame Geometry
What is the point of making a light bike if you can’t ride it effectively? For this reason, the geometry has been completely redesigned. The main features are the shorter head tube, the longer fork and a greater balance across all eight size options. The height of the bottom bracket has also been changed, it’s lower, to improve the ride-ability of the bicycle with increased tyre widths (up to 700x28c).
Seatpost Closure
Much of the effort has been concentrated in this area of the frame, both to reduce the overall weight of the locking system and to increase its functionality, power and safety. The new locking system is therefore smaller if compared to that of the V2-R and the C64, integrated into the frame and allows a greater modulation when tightening.
