- OVERVIEW
- GEOMETRY
The Colnago C68 All Road joins the C-series line-up to offer top quality performance and the added ability to tackle poorly paved roads and light gravel paths. Colnago is careful not to call this a gravel bike, not a pure road bike. Instead, it is a utilitarian’s dream machine since it offers a super high quality ride with the ability to withstand the realities of poor road quality most of us are facing on a regular basis.
Handmade in Italy, the C68 All Road uses the same construction method used for the pure road C68 with certain important variations. The designers have given the C68 All Road a more endurance-oriented geometry with a decreased reach and increased stack to put the rider in a more comfortable position without straining the neck and back. This means that the stack has been increased by about 19mm across all sizes while the reach is reduced by 3.5mm. But the seat tube angle stays the same compared to the C68, which helps keep the handling responsive.
This is not a racing bike along the lines of the V-series that the Colnago WorldTour teams use. But it is a bike dedicated to people who love to ride all sorts of distances over all types of road surfaces. One design decision that makes the All Road really ready for all roads is the fact that the frame can accommodate up to 35mm tires. The road-only C68 fits up to 32mm, which is already quite good for a road frame. To accommodate such wide tires without negatively impacting the handling, the C68 All Road features an increased fork rake compared to the road C68.
Integrated Cockpit and CeramicSpeed SLT Bearings in the Colnago C68 All Road bike
Keeping the look clean and classy, the C68 All Road uses the CC.01 integrated cockpit and features the CeramicSpeed SLT bearings just like the C68. This bearing system has only recently been developed by the Danish experts and comes with a lifetime warranty since they are practically indestructible and require no maintenance. That’s a huge plus if you are going with an integrated barstem with internal cable routing. Last thing you want is to have to fiddle around with your headset bearings periodically.
Available in six sizes, the All Road frame can be built up only with electronic groupsets. It is also the latest frame to feature Colnago’s Blockchain technology. An NFC tag is installed on all C68s, allowing access to information in the digital passport of the bicycle. The data is saved in the blockchain, via the Colnago app for iOS / Android smartphones. During the ordering process, everything from the date of order to the color choices to the date of sale and the party to whom it will ship will be recorded and stored for safe keeping.
Finding the perfect balance between performance, comfort, and practicality, the Colnago C68 All Road will have you ready to hit the road for fast adventures.
