The Scott Addict RC 10 is a lightweight carbon climbing bike with a touch of extra aerodynamic speed at a reasonable price. It comes from the same family of Scott bikes that has seen action in the Tour de France with the same geometry. With a focus on lightweight climbing ability, this bike is great on descents, flat sprints, and tight turns. This version of the Addict is faster than ever due to updated aerodynamics and improved stiffness without adding any weight. It is also properly integrated, reducing any potential drag from cables in the wind. This versatile road bike is faster in all situations without sacrificing any comfort.

The new Addict takes cues from Scott’s more aero bikes to hit higher speeds on the road. It has dropped seatstays, taller chainstays, and a slightly deeper aero tubing profile. The frame as a whole is also 14.5 percent stiffer than the previous generation through the backbone of the downtube, bottom bracket, and chainstay. With all of the cables tucked away, they stay out of the wind, making every watt count. This version of the Addict is equipped with SRAM Force eTap AXS 12-speed electronic shifting for smooth and reliable performance at an excellent price. This model also comes with a SRAM Powermeter, helping you ride like a pro. Disc brakes are featured for reliable modulated braking in all weather conditions so you can ride to your fullest potential.

Scott’s HMX carbon is used to construct the Addict RC 10 frame as many Tour-level road bikes are. A completely hollow seat and chainstay construction and hollow dropouts minimize weight. The carbon layout is carefully placed to improve stiffness without adding weight. This frame pushes the limits of minimal weight while still remaining within the UCI limits. Revised fork blades are also incredibly aerodynamic while remaining as light as possible. The dropped seatstay design adds stiffness and keeps the rider comfortable. With this lightweight build and optimized profiles, the Addict is unstoppable in all areas.

Integration on the Addict RC 10 is a huge factor in its suitability for road performance. A lack of visible cable or routing ports lead to a sleek look and enhance the aerodynamic nature of the bike. The cockpit of this version features an integrated headset along with Syncros Creston 1.0 Compact Carbon handlebar. Cables route through the bar in a way that supports electronic and mechanical shifting. Scott claims that they are the only company to successfully integrate all kinds of shifting with equal steering and braking performance as well as a properly stiff headtube. The Scott Addict RC 10 is a professional level lightweight road bike for a great value.

HOLLOW STRUCTURE

The complete frame set is built hollow and has a never seen clean inside to maximize the weight reduction.

EVO-LAP TECHNOLOGY

With the proper selection of materials, eighty percent of the work to create a frame is done. But the remaining twenty percent requires most of our efforts. For this reason, our choice of the most advanced carbon fibers in the market is followed by intensive use of specific tools, like FEA (finite element analysis) software, to map out the carbon lay-up.

With FEA software, we can simulate different forces on a virtual model of the frame and adjust the frame construction accordingly. FEA software enables us to create complete virtual prototypes incorporating all the physical phenomena that exist in real-world environments.

With our Evo-Lap technology we model the frame to optimize the surface area, simulate tube structures with different ply orientations, observe the results of using different configurations, and test the stress distribution in different areas of the frame. Thanks to this extensive computer modeling, we’ve optimized the carbon layers in all the parts of our frame. When the parts were bonded together in the first prototypes, the result was a super light and compact frame without sacrificing the stiffness, comfort or impact resistance. The entire range benefitted from our Evo-Lap technology.

SANDWICH DROPOUTS

The Addict RC dropouts are designed to be integrated on the thru-axle system thanks to a hollow tube design that allows a simple and lightweight structure.

SEAT CLAMP

Our new ultra-lightweight seat clamp weight just 12 grams and allows for a very carbon friendly clamp mechanism. This allowed us to save even more weight on the seat post (weight seat post:142gram).

INTEGRATED CABLE ROUTING

The Addict RC and Foil come with completely integrated cable routing for both mechanical and electronical shifting. This was achieved by our engineers without any compromise on shifting and braking quality or on the stiffness of the head tube. Furthermore, it is surprisingly easy for mechanics to change cables and maintain the bike.
